KOLIOS GROUP SA

The company is involved in producing, trading and exporting fruit, primarily kiwifruit and citrus fruits. Its headquarters is in Arta and it has developed a very large international export network in Europe, America, the Middle East and China.

Our company

Kolios Group SA was founded in 1956, and from then until the present day it has developed its activities in trading and exporting kiwifruit, oranges, mandarins and strawberries. It is very involved with all the stages of production of the fruit, from cultivation, grading and standardization, to packaging in the specialised packaging area and exporting to several countries, especially to the key German market.

Kiwi Fruit

KOLIOS GROUP SΑ markets the Hayward and Soreli varieties of kiwifruit. The Hayward variety of kiwifruit has green coloured flesh and belongs to the species Actinidia deliciosa. This variety was created in 1920 in New Zealand and it began to be better known in 1930. Soreli is a variety of Actinidia chinensis and has yellow flesh. Soreli’s main characteristics are its brightly coloured yellow flesh, its glowing bronze skin and sweeter taste. We grow, pick and pack our kiwifruit and export it on the international market.

Oranges

KOLIOS GROUP SA produces and sells oranges of the Navel, Navelines, Salustiana and Valencia varieties. These varieties together combine various characteristics, such as the long shelf life of Navel and Valencia, and the dual use of Salustiana, which can be eaten or used for juicing.

Mandarins

KOLIOS GROUP grows the Clementine, Ortanic και Nova varieties of mandarins, which means that its products cover the period from November to March. Clementines ripen from November to February and are seedless, while Nova is a late variety, with seeds, with a very long shelf life, as is Ortanic.

Strawberries

The soil in Ilia is particularly suitable for growing strawberries. KOLIOS GROUP sources and markets more and more strawberries due to increasing demand both in Greece and abroad. Strawberries have strong antioxidant properties, and are high in magnesium and calcium.

Exports
to the world market

The company started its export business in 1985, with its main destination being Germany. Since then it has continued to export the products of Arta’s fertile soil to overseas markets such as Germany, Italy, Spain, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Belarus, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria.
